overview

We’re not calling strangers. And we’re not loading your contacts to an app. We’ll just use the regular ways that you contact your friends in Georgia (text, messenger, What’sApp, Signal, etc.) to engage them in a conversation about voting for women in the primary.

Goals

  1. Make sure they are AWARE of the primary election

  2. Educate them on the 2022 STRATEGY FOR VOTING

  3. Make sure they know the NAMES OF THE WOMEN to vote for

Many thanks to Represent Georgia for funding this effort!

Script

We encourage you to use your voice in your texts, but we have provided a basic script for you to use

First Round of Texts

  • Hey friend, I’m text banking today for women with Her Term. We need more women elected who pass better laws. Did you know there’s a primary election right now, until May 24th. Can I count on you to vote?

  • You can find early voting locations and hours here: www.peachvote.com

Second Round of Texts

  • Do you know which women are running in your district? Her Term supports these candidates for office.

[and share this picture of the statewide candidates anyone can vote for]

Third Round of Texts

  • Will you help us spread the word about voting for women in the primary by friendbanking?

  • Thank you, more info is at herterm.org/friendbanking

overcoming objections

I’m too lazy to vote in the Primary.

Besides the obvious importance of voting in every election, how about you think of this as a test run for the general election?

My vote doesn’t matter.

Your vote matters MORE in the primary, because turnout is so much lower during the primary, the winning margin can be just a handful of votes.

Why should I vote for women?

Send them this Why Women infographic below.
