Bee Nguyen — Democratic Nominee for Georgia Secretary of State

Bee Nguyen made history as well as local headlines in 2017, when she became the first Asian-American Democratic woman to be elected to the Georgia General Assembly (winning the seat previously held by Stacey Abrams). Now, she’s making headlines nationally as she campaigns to become Georgia’s third female and first Asian-American secretary of state. If she wins, she’ll also be the first Asian-American to hold statewide office in Georgia.

Jen Jordan — Democratic Nominee for Georgia Attorney General

When Georgia State Senator Jen Jordan was growing up with a single mom in rural Dodge County, she learned an important lesson about power — particularly what happens when you don’t have any. Her mom worked at a beauty shop, and Jordan would stop by every day after school. Between the endless salon chatter, telephones ringing and the constant sound of the blow dryers, she would perk her ears up and listen to the women talk about the various economic challenges and other things going on in their lives. Nakita Hemmingway — Democratic Nominee for Georgia Agriculture Commissioner

Nakita Hemingway was born in Savannah, Georgia and raised in Decatur, Georgia. She is one of three siblings in a single parent home where a passion for helping others was instilled from a young age. “Those years of my life were the most profound, because that’s when our beliefs and values for working and fighting for people were formed.” Hemingway says. Alisha Thomas Searcy knows qualified teachers and inspiring mentors early on are crucial for children to enjoy school and thrive.
